THE OPENING OF THE NEW PLAYGROUND.

Hi bloggers  last Thursday the 26th of July Waikowhai Primary had a grand opening of our new playground.The playground had a green ribbon for a guy named Mr Craig and the deputy principal. The deputy principal's name was Miss McGrath. they were the one's who cut the ribbon's.Mr Craig and Miss McGrath had a special pair of scissors to cut the ribbon.The kapa haka group had to sing a song called He Honore and after that the whole school had to sing best day of my life and Tena Koutou. While we had to the songs the year 5/6 had to buddy up with a junior and then take them on the playground. My favourite part of the playground was the flying fox, the rock climbing and the monkey bars.

Hi bloggers yesterday Te Waka Ako went on a trip to the Zoo.We got to go on a double Decker bus to the Zoo The time we left was at 9:15 and got back from the zoo at 2:30.We only had to take morning tea because we had to come back to  school to have lunch. some children's parents came on the trip to.The reason why we went to the zoo was because we had to learn about extremly more facts about the animals.We all saw all the animals like the Kiwi,Giraffe,Cheetahs,Monkeys,Tigrs,Little blue penguin and other animals.We also got to go to the bug lab the bug lab was fun because it had games and activities. 

Tiritiri Matangi island trip

Hi Bloggers last week on Thursday Te Waka Ako went on a trip to Tiritiri matangi. We had to make a big lunch because we had to leave school at 7:30 and get back to school at 5:30 or 5:45. We had to get to school at about 7:30 in the morning so that we could get put into groups.Some children's parents came on the trip with us to.We went on 2 buses to the ferry when we got to the ferry we had to clean our shoes because we weren't allowed to take any soil,Argentina ants and other things on the island the reason why was because rats,mice and other things eat the birds on the island.It took us about 1 and a half hours to get to the island.when we got to the island there was a truck that we had to put our bags in so we don't have to carry it around the island. The things the kids were not allowed  to take was a speaker,phone and a camera.The things we were allowed to take was binoculars to spot birds and Giant Weta and money to buy food on the faerie.

Hi everyone today Te Waka Ako went on a website called Emotion wordcloud we went on that website because it was for our anti bulling day And Every one had to wear pink and we had to write emotions for each letter of the alphabet for example a would be angry b for bad c for curios d for dedicated and thats what we did.

A Des Hunt visit

Today,Des Hunt came to visit waikowhai primary school.He shod use his cat named poffy but Des hunt drove over poffy so he bought him a dog named puku. He showed use an explosion, the material he used was a lid,lighter and breath freshener.After that he shod us some of hes books called The Last Tuatara,The Tooth,1918 Broken Poppies and skink gully.

what happened: Des Hunt showed us an explosion because he used it to help when he was problem solving.

put magnets on the ramp and metal balls to show the way that a story goes together.

Favourite part:When the balloon popped because it was loud and and the balloon pieces went every where.

My favourite part of the presentation was when the Balloon exploded because it was loud and the balloon pieces went every where and everyone screamed.

Emelio's ANZAC work

Hi bloggers this week we have been learning information reading books and discussing ANZAC day. Today Manukau have been writing about what we think that would happened in WW1 if we could be soldiers in the WW1.This is What i thought i would hear and see in WW1,I can hear the machine guns,Rifles,Explosions and raindrops and people dying..People dying,tanks,guns like,rifles,shotguns,machine guns,rocket launcher,grenade launcher,light machine guns.
